Staying at The Halyard Apartments in Cape Town

haylard apartments

As a digital nomad, I spend a large portion of my life living out of a suitcase in Airbnb apartments.

Whether I’m in Bali, Sicily, or Nairobi, it’s the best option that gives me a sense of normalcy.

Hostels? Too much noise and not enough privacy or room to get into a productive zone.

Hotels? Often rooms don’t have a workspace, and there’s no separation between work and rest unless you spend the day in a cafe.

With a private apartment, you can work from the couch, the dining room table, or the kitchen counter. There’s space to find a nook to get into flow and get sh*t done.

With productivity being the most important thing when I work and travel, I’ll happily pay for a workspace that will give that to me. After all, if I can’t work, I can’t make money, which means no more catching last-minute flights to Botswana or Namibia.

If you find yourself in the same boat with a ticket to Cape Town, allow me to introduce you to the luxurious Halyard Apartments. These gorgeous Airbnb apartments have everything you need to explore the Mother City and stay on top of those deadlines.

Here’s my review of the Halyard Apartments in Cape Town!

How to Get to Halyard

What makes the Halyard Apartments an incredible accommodation is its location. For digital nomads and working professionals, it’s conveniently located in the heart of Cape Town’s CBD.

You’re only a short walking (or Uber) distance from:

  • The Artscape Theatre
  • CTICC
  • My Citi Bus Routes
  • V&A Waterfront
  • Lion’s Head & Table Mountain
  • Dozens of delicious restaurants and cafes

If you’re in the Mother City for business (or slow travelling), and you want to keep your finger on Cape Town’s pulse, there’s no better place to stay.

The easiest and fastest way to get here is to fly into Cape Town International Airport (CPT), grab a rideshare (Uber and Bolt both work here), hire a car, or take the My Citi bus into town.

For those coming with a car, there is safe, secure, underground parking for all guests. Security will scan your driver’s and car licence on arrival to make sure your vehicle doesn’t leave without you.

The Apartments

With birds-eye views over the Harbour, and the city’s skyscrapers twinkling in the distance, the Halyard Apartments are a city slickers dream come true.

Choose from 1,2, or 3 bedroom options and get ready to experience city living opulence.

The kitchens come with state of the art technology. I’m talking about stoves that can detect if pots are on it and components that rise out of the island. It’s fully equipped with every knife, pan, or wine glass you would need for a comfortable stay.

Oh, and speaking of wine, when you arrive, there is a row of delicious vintages you can buy with Snapscan as well as tonics for those who would prefer a G&T.

But the real showstoppers here are the bedrooms and the wrap-around balcony. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with all the luxuries you’ll need, like heated towel racks, a deep luxurious bathtub, and a massive vanity for your 10-step skincare routine.

The bedrooms come with sliding doors that open up onto the balcony, inviting the city inside, and giving you a gorgeous view of sunrise or sunset (without leaving the comfort of your bed).

If you’re a working professional staying here, you’ll love this space even more. There are plenty of nooks to get some work done, whether you want a desk or prefer working on the couch in front of the massive TV.

The Wi-Fi speed is fast, reliable, uncapped, and you won’t have to worry about awkward Zoom call lags or not being able to get online to make a deadline.

Food at Halyard

food at halyard apartments-1

The Halyard are self-catering apartments. There isn’t an on-site restaurant, so if you don’t want to cook, you’ll need to rely on UberEats or MrD for food delivery.

However, if you love to cook (like me), I’d highly recommend using the kitchen. It’s incredible!

But if you’re feeling lazy (or your culinary skills stop at making toast), here some delicious restaurants to order in from:

  • Lekker Vegan
  • Belly of the Beast
  • La Tete
  • Bamboo Plant Power
  • Yu Restaurant
  • Hemelhuijs
